This week's questions are brought to you courtesy of phoenix39, the letter F, and the number 5...

Regrets...
  1. Do have any regrets?
  2. If yes, then what's your biggest regret?
  3. If no, then why not?
  4. If you could, would you ever go back and change anything?
  5. If you could, would you go to the future to see where your decisions have taken you?

Do have any regrets?

Doesn't anyone, to greater or lesser degrees?

If yes, then what's your biggest regret?

I wish I had stayed in Korea longer, by which I mean, I might as well have not gone home in between my two and a half jobs there. Even so, I did get a month-long life in Costa Rica out of it, so even then it's not THAT much of a regret.

Mostly I regret being such a slacker in college.

If no, then why not?

Regrets are a kind of dumb thing to have, I guess, since we can't time travel. (Weird, though, since just last night the Boy was watching the Twilight Zone episode "Walking Distance," which is sort of about regrets. Reading my mind, Friday Five?) But I suppose they are helpful guideposts in decision-making, e.g. "Will I regret (not) doing this? Is this like that other thing I did(n't do) that I regret?"

If you could, would you ever go back and change anything?

As dumb and minor as it sounds, I think I would only go back to freshman year of college to be 1) less of a weirdo and 2) less intent on being in a social group of which I was only really ever at the periphery (and more focused on the individuals I actually really liked). That's it.

If you could, would you go to the future to see where your decisions have taken you?

Nah, I like surprises.
